Standing on that line between the known and the unknown is so exciting! Palms, as they build sweat, are the first indicators of your thrill. Your heart soon follows with an increased beat. Your body is in touch with everything that surrounds it. You feel the sudden changes in the breeze, and you smell flowers from 30 feet away. The excitement is so palpable, you can slice it with a knife and your smile comes from the depth of your stomach.
It’s like a blank page for writers and artists. Only your subconscious truly knows what image will be drawn either through lines or chosen words…
A new world awaits… whether you accept its invitation or not is a decision which is yours and yours alone. In my opinion? Why not take it, grab it by both hands and dance through that doorway. What’s the worst that can happen…
After losing our jobs – we loaded our truck and road-tripped our way to Southern California. We were scared, yet had such hopes and anticipation for our new lives.
Living on a boat in SoCal was cool, but we wanted more! After a year of learning the ropes we set sail for Mexico. We didn’t have a clue as to what to expect or how long we’d be gone. Not a flick of regret was felt during this trip.
Paddling daily always staying close to shore, my friend told me “You know I paddled all the way out of the bay to the buoy the other day…” of course I had to do that too right then and there on the spot. What a feeling to be out in the open on real swells!
When you’re standing on that line – do you cross it? Or do you back away staying well within your comfort zone? I hope you know that magic does not happen unless you accept the challenge.

Fantastic interpretation of the challenge! So glad to see someone have to courage to be on such an adventure. Life settles one down so fast it’s easy to forget there are times to just let go and try something different. Love the photo at the buoy. Good for you! Awesome!

There’s truth in crossing that line.
Sometimes I think it’s the most important truth.
Beautiful pics, and belated congratulations on your buoy paddle!

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this
blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to
get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal.
I must say you have done a amazing job with this.
In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Safari.
Excellent Blog!

Sorry about that, I wonder why? Error on my side, or your internet is slow?

Thank you so much! I always laugh when I see your profile pic, imagine that a photographer chopping half his head off in a selfie! Oh the irony of your sense of humor… 🙂

Nice interpretation of the Threshold theme! I admire and am jealous of your spunk. I’m afraid my spunk has rather run out for adventure, but that comes with age for some people. I am one of those. Nice photographs. 🙂
As for me, I was out looking for photographs reflecting the Halloween theme last October and came across this interesting Threshold. You’re welcome to come and see what my take on this week’s theme is:

Thanks for sharing your take on the prompt Cris!
…age-shmage! The friend who did that long paddle board ride who prompted me to step out of my comfort zone is in her 60s. You’re only as old as you allow yourself to believe!

Thank you for your words of encouragement. This and other blogs I’ve been doing for several years have gotten me somewhat out at least some of my comfort zones. 🙂

Stepping out of the comfort zone can be hard, but if you really want something, then sometimes you need to.
Kinda hoping you might be still in San Diego late 2015 when I have my next big adventure

Wow, your and your husband’s story is pretty inspiring. I’m at that proverbial cliff at the moment, and I’ve always been afraid of heights.
